That looks like the gondola sequence from 'Moonraker'. Must have been shot about 1976/77 in Venice. I met Sir Rog a couple of times at Pinewood when they were making 'Octopussy' and 'A View to a Kill'. Always pleasant and popular in the studio. A star.

That’s right Moonraker. After that they tried to be serious with For Your Eyes only. Roger seemed to like Venice. Close to Switzerland so he didn’t waste any tax free days being in UK.

Absolutely incredible super 8 transfer quality! I wonder what camera was used to get shots this great.

I suspect it's also old cartridges. When I look at footage I shot back late 70s early 80s it's consistently more steady than the footage I've shot since the year 2000.

I love watching my old Kodachromes: they've held up better over the years than I have! (I guess we can't remain 16 forever!)

Might have been shot on double super 8 roll film with a DS8 camera - far superior to the plastic cartridge cameras. Just amazing quality.
Must say Roger Moore really looks like a really classy guy (I'm sure he was) in these shots.

Roger Moore would be my favorite Bond if Sean Connery wasn't so GOOD at it!

-Sean Connery has been Bond basically as long as I've been me and for me he sets the standard.

He was. Here's a photo of him in a 1992 Christmas charity show "Joy to the World" at the Albert Hall during an early in the day run through (before the dress rehearsal). He was the favourite as unlike the other celebrities in the show he sat out to watch other segments that he wasn't in being rehearsed. I was playing one of the three Kings that year, which is how I got to take the photo.

I thought him a very good sport as he made his entrance to a Connery Bond theme - Goldfinger!!!

                              For your eyes only.
Sparked a memory having a audition at Pinewood Studios then wandering around with Dad as Harold Wilson popped up to open the new Bond sound stage with pipe. Slightly off topic.
