  • Julie Andrews at the AFI

Well worth a watch folks, what a well spoken speech.

The part she said about all the unrecognized people who work to make the films possible. Wow what a true statement. To all the background people - workers transporting the films to and from theaters - the movie house staff - working to get the show on and off the screen. The floor staff for running the theater selling tickets making the popcorn pouring the drinks and cleaning the auditoriums between shows, EVERY SINGLE person working to bring film to the screen, is what she means.

Very proud to know that I was a part of that for nearly 36 years.

Thank you Miss. Andrews. You have earned that precious award and evening.

Well said Chip! Julie Andrews is an extraordinary talent and the very definition of class. The AFI always does an amazing job with their awards shows.

I liked her in "S.O.B.", also one of William Holden's better latter day efforts.

Possibly the best, and most touching, part of the AFI Award show:
