Hiya all,
I'm tony. From the north of Scotland (UK).
I've just joined up. i have been working with 8mm film since i was 6 years old with my dad.
Sadly in 2019 he passed away and i had made a start transferring his films to digital.
H had bought both a wolverine and a moviestuff transfer unit. i didnt think much of the movie stuff one it was a converted cheap projector with a mirror and lens on the front of a board.
The wolverine was ok ish but finally crapped out.
I am in the process of making my own set up and trying to keep things simple.
so started off with using the moviestuff projector. as it was already converted with an LED light and speed controller.
so i added a raspberry pi and a switch on the shutter wheel which activates the camera every frame.
So far its looking promising. but i need another projector as there is not really enough room for the lens in this one which means i'm not getting close enough to the gate, and i am at a slight angle.
anyway i will go into more detail in the correct forum.
