Sad news indeed, it's been a bad week for British stars with Angela Lansbury dying as well, Robbie was born to play "Hagrid" in the Harry Potter films, he was absolutley brilliant in the role, and he had 2 Bond films under his belt as well, I know in recent years he hasn't been very well, but still a shock that this affable actor has left the sound stage for the last time.

For some reason as well as those I after the news I thought of him in Mona Lisa with Bob Hoskins, a small role but me made his mark. Also great in the comedy "Nuns on the Run" (dressed as a nun!).

He was also an excellent Duke to Jason Robard's King in the underrated 1993 The Adventures of Huck Finn.

I got a beautiful 35mm print of the Irish comedy ON THE NOSE with Robbie playing a university employee who uses a Australian aboriginal head in a glass jar to help him win bets on the horses. RIPComment
