I hate the very topic! Once back in the 90's, I once complimented a lady on her hair,( it was quite nice ). I immediately found myself dragged into the managers office and it was demanded that I take a rediculous class, which had absolutely nothing to do with anything I said, otherwise I'd lose my job. The weirdest thing was that this lady was complimented daily about her hair, left and right, but for some odd reason, I was singled out. It was really embarrassing, especially for a person who totally respects women, and has all his life.

I take the ridiculous class every year! It's various situational videos and they are genuinely creepy!
Where I work, the standard is "eye of the beholder", which means that it has nothing to do with how the accused meant whatever the offense was. For example, a married couple both worked there. They would often meet at lunch time, and they kissed. A co-worker was offended by this, complained and they were told to make sure not to do it in front of them again.
I'm very much against real sexual harassment, but I think the Inquisition should have told the co-worker to grow up! (-or at least stop looking!).

Never heard of taking a class in it, that's news to me.
Years ago a young lady I once worked with in aviation used to come up behind me in the hanger and knee me, just at the back of my knees, that of coarse makes you want to fall forward, anyway I thought mmmm ok, I must get her back, so I came up behind "her" one day and did the same thing, she fell forward fast, so to stop her falling I quickly put my hands around her front to hold her. She looked at me, smiled and went Oh! Jimmy, I replied Oh! Shit. She had a great sense of humor, thankfully .
Ah! the good ole days

Back in the 70's, I was shooting employee technical training videos for a major company. The head supervisor was a female. We were finishing a video....and at her suggestion , for a comical touch, we ended the video with a male supervisor walking by a female worker complimenting her, and then patting her on the butt. Which I then filmed in close-up ...at playback, we all laughed including the female (an actual employee) who was on the receiving end. Mind you, this was a video shown to new employees for company training. .... How Times Have Changed.Last edited by Thomas Dafnides; December 16, 2022, 11:16 PM.

There are always two sides of the story.
The one side is that there was (probably still is) a lot of shit going on, e.g. all those actresses that have been forced to have sex with the directors to get the job. (E.g. what did Mr. Hitchcock really do?)
The other side is the negative impact of the permanent stream of wokeness and other conspiracy theories (mainly on "social media", but also on some traditional medias). The permanent separation into "us" and "them" in these theories seems to have turned self-confident persons into paranoid victims. E.g. I wonder how many women have tried very, very hard to find something to also be able to jump onto the "metoo"-train. (Even the "traditional, reputable media" seems to become more and more sensationalist, blowing up mosquitoes to the size of an elephant.)
So it’s becoming very, very hard for an individual to separate the "real shit" from "just another unjustified shitstorm on social media". As a result, many people became overcautious/oversensitive while others simply became ignorant. Unfortunately, both attitudes are not healthy for the society on the long run.
Just my two cents.

We had one early on where an engineer I worked with took a shine to a particularly attractive secretary. He started spending way more than appropriate amounts of time in her office and she complained. Personnel allowed for the idea that this was just a misunderstanding and told him if he stopped doing it the matter would be closed. This seems fair to me.
-but he was back at it a few weeks later and Security shoved him, his car and his stuff out the gate!
He was told exactly what was going to happen and he rolled the dice anyway: this also seems fair to me.
I "inherited" his office (it shared a wall with a furnace room...at least I was never cold!). One day I'm sitting with my new boss going over some drawings, he turned to me: "-and don't let me hear this happen with you!". (Maybe he thought it was something to do with the office!)
I said "I'm married: if I did that, you would be the least of my problems!"
It's part of the joy of marriage: 40 years ago whenever I saw an attractive looking woman, the question automatically popped into my skull "Should I ask her out?".
Since mid-1992, the default answer has been set to "No!". (I've caught my limit!)
