Burt Bacharach RIP

As a singer song writer, no one epitomizes the sound of the sweet/ bittersweet love ballad of the 60's than song writer Burt Bacharach! His song writing and especially the chord progressions found within the songs he wrote, have never been equaled. He was almost always behind the scenes, but his song writing garnered three Oscars, and another quality of his music was a very simplistic, not overlayered sound, which was ridiculed at the time, but today, you can't help but be moved by. His last hit, I believe, was "One Less Bell To Answer" sung by the 5th Dimension, and let us not forget, "Raindrops Keep Falling on My head", "Do You Know the Way to San Jose", "Walk on By", What the World Needs Now" and "Close to You" amongst so many other incredible songs. Though various artists would record hissongs, you literally knew a Burt Bacharach song when you heard it. He saw that thesound of the 60's was passing away, and felt that his lovely sound would not be appreciated in the 70's and he may well have been right. Rest in Peace, most Noble writer of so many incredible memories.
