I think if my memory serves me well, most of those later titles like "Master and Commander" were imports and sold as such I have the review of it on FFTC and will get back later on on that one

I think some titles were made by Derann (using the labs they used for their own releases the striped and sounded them) for foreign companies but they kept some for their own sales possibly as commision. I believe that is why "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave" has German titiles.
Just checked with FFTC and came across the review of "Master Commander" it came as a 7/400ftScope/stereo-sound. Special Import: Derann Film Services. the review concludes, Very Highly recommended Print A-A plus reviewed by KW, and that was back in 2005 in Issue No58.
Just a thought. If, let's say "Hammer Films" released a title originally, but the rights were all bought up by, let's say, Paramount, if you released it thru Marketing Films (through whom Paramount released they're films), you wouldn't need Hammer Films permission? I dig the " Christian" argument, but beware, in that, just because it's sold on eBay, doesn't automatically mean it is being sold with the blessing of the parent company.
I believe Derann released their original Hammer films through the deal with EMI the then distributers and the later ones through the Rank deal as Rank had the 16mm negatives and made the prints at Rank Film Labs.
