Well it certainly went quiet, following the other 4 games,. One dubiously unsporting win, one game that but for the weather would have been an England win and no mention of the other two🤔.
Meanwhile today, we saw our Lionesses convincingly beat your Flailing Matildas in the Women's World Cup semi final and in front of your home crowd.
The pictures of the despair and sadness on the faces of 95% of the capacity home crowd when the third goal went in was....😁😁😁😁😁

On this side of the pond, we read the losing US team haven't exactly been welcomed home with open arms.🤔

There was a part of me that was almost happy to see the U.S. team lose. I've got nothing against women in any way, shape or form, but when a. The team captain forces the team to not stand for the U.S. anthem ... and b. They totally politicize the game and make it about anything but soccer, that just ticks me off. I can see by the previous posts, that England and Australia are very much into they're "football".

Yes, Osi, that was what we had read and witnessed. I can understand why a non royalist (avoiding the other R word) may not want to sing God Save The King, but the US doesn't have that problem...a few others maybe😞.
There has always been an Aussie/English sporting rivalry that has on several occasions have erupted into diplomatic incidents.

The level of skill of some of the players in this world cup has been remarkable over shadowed by teams crowd funding to attend or been offered little financial incentive from their national associations who are getting a good pay off from FIFA. Spain who we meet in the final have many top players missing "Las 15". https://justwomenssports.com/reads/s...senior%20level.
          Sport is such fun😉

Soccer looks pretty boring to me. Bring on the rugger chaps! ;-)

Just for "Trevor", actually I felt a little bit sorry for poor Australia, I must stress though it was just a little bit, to there loss against New Zealand, but what an amazing tackle, he really nailed it, anyway its of to France, that will be interesting as France are generally very good.

The All Blacks have had a great run this year.
