Remember not liking chicken as a child as it was always tough. Whereas now it is always super soft. The answer from someone in the chicken industry was years ago a chicken might have made it to 9-12 months. Now lifespan is 12-18weeks for laying hens. Look at fast food KFC resembles chicken McDonalds is basic unrecognisable as any form of life but their burgers are nice.
