Well I have been after this one for a while and to my surprise I found it in a second hand store of all places. Years ago we ran the 35mm print at the cinema of Jonny Depp in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" Well the original 1971 movie is "way" better. The casting is spot on, although its not exactly a Christmas movie, this charming movie is great viewing at this time of year. As for the quality of the transfer, its excellent. Special features include a audio commentary from kids from the film and highly recommend it, here are a few screen shots of the blu-ray the other night while I was using the Panasonic VP.

was this ever released on super 8?
