  • Beta unit please?

Does anyone have a Beta player? I have one Beta tape, "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams", and I would like to have a digital file of that tape. Please send me a PM if you are able to help in this venture. I thank you ahead of time! Sincerely, the Oz-meister!

Osi, would there not be a company somewhere that could do that for you?

There probably is, but nowhere near-abouts. If there was, I could make a copy with my "One Touch" video capture digital system, it's just the scarcity of a Beta player.

Hi Osi, why not look for a dvd of it, or have you done this already. Sometimes beta players turn up on EBay as vintage audio or electronics although they must be quite rare. Sales were quickly overtaken by vhs. A shame in some respects because I have been told it produced better quality images than vhs.

I must admit ive never seen grizzly adams, dont think ive ever seen a print for sale even on 16mm.
Because of the difficulty you have had getting a good colour print could you not project the DVD, while GA is far from my idea of a great film, at least projecting from a disc will get the big screen result, and with a perect colour picture.
good luck with your search though.

I have that DVD. Sadly, it is the same copy that is on YouTube as well as nearly everywhere. I have the original release of the feature, first time on VHS as well, but the image quality is marginal. I have one of those combination VHS/ DVD players, 1080p upgrade, but it's still lousy. Hence the desire to find someone with a Beta player. I have looked for years for laserdisc release of this, ( as that would certainly be better ), but no luck.
