I know that some forum members knew Doug Palmer who runs a cine/photography shop in Bridport, Dorset, but he was never a forum member himself. A more unassuming, gentle and obliging man you could never wish to meet and anyone who visited his shop would have to agree. He would never overcharge on any item and in fact would usually accept a lower offer on the asking price. Someone that it was impossible to have an argument with and if you were unhappy with a purchase he would always give a full refund and an apology.( I’m sure you know the type of person I mean, although they are very rare these days). He also had a wealth of photographic knowledge.
The sad news is that he is in a Hospice in Dorchester and is very ill and not expected to recover. The shop of course is closed, although still full of much related stock, which is being offered at half price but unfortunately no contact is possible. Such a nice man and another great loss to our community.
