16C or 16D anamorphic lens

Hi, I'm just looking for advice. I have the choice of a Kowa 16C or 16D anamorphic lens to buy. I require a lens to use with a Super 8 and a 16mm projector. I'm unsure what the difference is between the two, and which would be best. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks, Darren

The main difference between the two is the rear diameter:
16c has got a rear diameter of 49mm while the 16d is only 43mm. (Rear = the end that points towards the projector)

Even with only Super8 in mind, I would choose the larger one (16c) to reduce the chance of vignetting.

(No, I have not got a clue whether there’s a scheme behind those letters after the „16“.)
