Trapped in a Flash back!

We watched an amazing movie in which, I kid you not, the story is a flashback, within a flashback, within a flashback! When you finally 'resurface' from all these flashbacks the story actually makes sense! The movie is The Locket (1941) starring Robert Mitchum and Lorraine Day, currently on TCM and a good film.

I just watched this film and I agree how good it is! I don't think I had heard of it before. Likewise the lead actress Laraine Day is new to me. I will search out her films...

That reminds me of Christopher Nolans film, "Memento", which you really have to pay attention to.
