  • Clueless Newbie Requesting Assistance in Identifying Equipment

    Hello Everyone!

I am new here. I know absolutely nothing about film production. However I inherited some interesting equipment recently and I am interested in putting it up for sale however I have no idea what it is that I have. I tried researching what I can see written on the outside on the stickers. All I came up with is that the equipment was once owned by American Zoetrope, a film production company that was founded by Francis Ford Coppola. I was told that this equipment was used in the production of the movie "The Godfather". So that makes sense. But that all that I know. I want to know what they are and what they do so I can do some research and accurately price them. Any assistance is appreciated. BTW I am not looking for any values, I am just looking for information. And if this is the wrong place to post this, I apologize.

Probably not the right place to post but I'll answer this anyway.

The first one is definitely the DTS sound system playback, used for playing digital audio back in the film days.
Not sure about the rest, but most likely to be some video production equipment used in the studio - back in analog tape days.

Short answer - not much of the value today since all are being totally obsolete. May get some $$ when shown in the right place and the right time, but do not expect miracle.

I've moved this thread to the more appropriate General Yak section. Jade, I would guess most of the equipment pictured is from the mid to late 1990s, two decades past the making of The Godfather.
