      Thanks for this, Eivind!

I had it on my bucket-list to visit Derann back in the day, but life got in the way. Things like these podcasts give those of us in a different time and place a look at what it must have been like.

I was basically done with film-collecting before I found out about Derann, but the idea of brand-new sound prints after the year 2000 was just too much to ignore (I DID try for a short time!), -and it sent me in directions I never expected after that.

In the end, even after I thought I was done, it turned out I wasn't even started, yet!

1999: "What do I need sound for?"
2019: "I think if we shove the stove and refrigerator outside, we can fit some more speakers in!"

I went past Derann's old shop last week (99 high Street Dudley). The front is now a barber's shop!! Very sad!

Well done, Eivind, thank you so much for that! Editing the conversation must have taken a lot of time.

What's very interesting here is when the camera looks out at the audience I'm pretty sure I recognize people from this forum. That one guy in the red jacket looks like Dominique De Bast and I'm pretty sure John Burgess is there too.

            -anyone else?

You are correct with both. Brian and Melvin can also be seen. You can also spot me wandering around 😉

I thought you'd be behind the camera!

                (-personally, where I'd rather be!)

I filmed with four cameras. Three on tripods while I walked around behind the last stabilized one, and sometimes I came into the frame of the others. So toucan spot me a couple of times as I switch between the cameras.

                    Eivind,

Thank you for all your hard work, including traveling with 4 cameras and accessories. Ged tells wonderful, entertaining stories and Adrian sets it all up nicely. Derek Simmonds started posting on the Forum back in 2001. I never did get to meet him, so I very much enjoyed finding out more about what he was like.
