  • My outdoor theatre (back to 2012)

Seeing others posted their outdoor screening, I have done such thing but back in 2012 when I live in Toronto, Canada.

I threw a party for my son, and the turn out was amazing.. since I themed as the 1970s show

Here is the exact point of the video when the show was starting:

and a screen shot from the occasion:

Unfortunately, I cannot do it here in my home town since Indonesia is so humid and mosquitos are everywhere during night time.

    Cheers,

When I lived in Hollywood across from the historic Beachwood market I had many outdoor screenings in the parking lot behind the store. It was a big hit with the community showing 16 and super 8 films to many who brought their own chairs, blankets and wine. The biggest turnout was when I screened Invasion of the Body Snatchers filmed right where we were gathered as well as the surrounding steps up the hills and the nearby Bronson cave. Kevin McCarthey showed up and spoke as well. Great times in the 90s and early 2000s.

What a great Party Winbert! Looks like everyone had a great time. What films were you showing? I know what you mean about the mosquitos at night I live in South Florida and have a pool with a screened in enclosure. The pool takes up most of the backyard, but I think that I could hang a sheet on the back of the Lani and project out of the kitchen windows. Have you thought about enclosing your patio with a lanai screen?

Since they were kids mostly so Tom & Jerry is the easiest way to get their attention followed by Laurel & Hardy. Aproaching the night, I showed Mad Mad World for adults but most of them prefer talking and drinking, so I stopped at reel #1.
