Is it too much trouble for sellers to put their prices on display in their For Sale posts??

Why do people have a problem with this????

Hello Forum Members, I've been appreciating your deals and insight from a distance. I was excited to see some of these titles but the prices seem so crazy. I made an offer for Kong and Snow White at $30 each, and was slapped in the face with a RED counter offer like usual, any offer seems like an insult to a seller. 7 reels for $35.00 is a bit much.

Pat, I have 'This Island Earth', and the film is pretty silly for a B movie, but the color is reduced to sepia. I bought mine for $10 and after a little research most copies are like this. One offered on ebay recently for $20.00 failed to sell on a completed listings search not to mention that the Laserdisc is going for $15.00 buy now. I would not like as a new collector to see prices for these films rise so drastically over night. I will not buy from this seller or others on Forum if they are looking to get TOP DOLLAR for these reels as if they are New and we are living in 1972. No way...

Jeanne,

Thank you for posting prices and for selling your films on the Forum.

Pat,

I've come across a few prints of This Island Earth with very nice color.

I apologize to Jeanne, I woke up hoping you would say yes but, I was only dreaming. She said "make me an offer" and now I why others here back away from that line. Anyway, If all of the titles came with descriptions and had shipping included then that would be a slightly better deal, but I will never reply to a poster anymore that says "make me an offer". It just never works.

RE: T.I.E.: Pat, let us know how it comes in...The seller I bought mine from described the color saturation issue and other details related to the condition of the film. So for $10, it was a deal since, one day I may want to trade or sell for something else at the same price for 400' of a B movie. Is the value of that film really $20 with great colors, does that include shipping? I'm wondering what value it may have in the future if it does not have great colors and you decide to sell it, that is my point. This is perhaps something that should be talked about in print reviews or general yak though.

Jeanne,

The prices you are asking are very tempting. Wish I was in a buying situation. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, these prices are very reasonable.

P.S. Please sell my friend Pasqaule that copy of This Island Earth. No day is complete without Exeter and his Interocitor.

Just some advice for the younger or newer members of the forum ...

Depending on ther titles, some titles still get top dollar because of thier availability and of course the film.

The number of reels for the price really doesn't enter into it when you come to titles like "King Kong" and such. Thats not saying that folks do not luck out here and there, (Last year, I won a print of "High Noon" for 20.00 dollars on ebay, and I was shocked to actually win it at that price!), but thats not the rule.

From what I've seen, "King Kong"{ tends to net around 70.00 to 100.00, sometimes more.
