Mark, be aware that Heurtier has not the standard distance between the sound and the picture so any film that has a soundtrcak that has not been recorded on it will be out of sync.

I believe that the projector has not the standard distance between frame and sound for both gauges. In other words, if you want to project a studio film (a Caste Films release for example) you will have an out of sync result. Only the films recorded on this projector will have the correct sync.

Hi Mark...I'm actually working on a Heurtier P624B projector right now. I just got the motor running and the spindles turning. It hadn't been run for a long time. It's in really beautiful condition with a case. Next I'll be testing it with film.

Hi Janice, they are exceptionally fine machines, and must be quite rare in the US?

I've always liked the look of the Heurtiers, but wasn't there some concerns about film scratching with them?

My mistake.
I recall an excellent article on these machines in one of the past issues of Film Collector.

The Heurtier Stereo 42 has a reputation for scratching. I have one and it's beautiful to display, however it is a scratch factory. I have not heard about that problem with the P624B.

I have always found it laughable that people tend to liken these, or least link them in the same sentence as Beaulieu projectors.

They are about as different as chalk and cheese except for some aspects of their overall appearance.
That's where any similarities start and then end!

Would this machine be good for Standard 8mm sound? Does it have the correct separation. I'm looking for a great Std 8 sound machine. What lamp is in this Heurtier?

I don't think the 8 mm separation is correct, neither. The lamp is a 100 watts.
