I can now report on our Christmas film shows as I had no idea what the program would be as we had bought a few titles on ebay (all 1st class by the way), and depending on the post they could have ended up being the Christmas shows. Luckily the good old Royal Mail did not let us down so we watched those films earlier. So, on Christmas Eve we watched "Scrooge" the 1951 classic with Aleister Sim. It's a lovely print on 5x400ft reels and is becoming a bit of a tradition as we show it every year. Three British TV stalwarts also star in this film. Patrick (John Steed) Macnee, George (Arfur Daley) Cole and Jack (Dixon of Dock Green) Warner. I had put the trusty Elmo 160 away and used a Chinon 8000 which I had purchased recently and it runs beautifully, very quiet running, kind to prints, and a lovely steady picture. On Christmas night it was out with the Elf for a 16mm show and we watched the original "Black Christmas" again, (same as last year) but it is fun and Olivia Hussey is always worth a watch. Well that was our Christmas show line up. I hope you all had a very Happy Christmas and trust that you will have a wonderful 2008. All the best, Paul Spinks.
