Just got out my Elmo ST 600D after not using it for a few months. Firstly, the take-up spools rotates very slowly and then with film on it, refuses to rotate at all. Secondly, the projector is too slow in forward (yes, I have it switched to 24 fps!) and in reverse, must be down to 3 or 4 fps. Any advice gratefully received!

Most likely the belts either need a good cleaning or replacement. I had the same problem with the take-up on an ST1200, and cleaning the take-up belt did the trick. I usually apply non-slip fluid to the rubber parts and belts which helps them...well..not slip!

You may want to clean the rubber wheels that drive the shutter as well -- I assume that an st600 is similar to an st1200 in this respect.
