Hi there fellow members.I was speaking to Phil of Classic yesterday, when i asked him does he have any Pulse/sync gear for the
ELMO GS1200 STEREO;at a good price.
What he told me was the following...
When i bought up the cresta stock,i had quiet a few of their pulse/sync devices.I did not sell ONE;not one,so i took the whole lot and BINNED THEM.I just couldn't believe it.All them excellent pieces of gear in the bin lorry's crushing machine. There's no justice.Andy.

What a shame. They are brilliant units too.

Now I wonder if I could open mine and copy the circuit? [Wink]

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Andy

Wasn't there one on Ebay recently that went for a tidy sum?

Andrew,

Thank you for relating that story.

A while back, more than 10 years ago,
Elmo USA - The New York division, when it was
located in New Hyde Park, NY; did the
same exact thing with all of their
ST1200 parts.

Straight to the trash! [Eek!]

However, Leon Norris was the person
that was able to purchase the GS 1200 parts,
and salvage them for his empire.

Something inside of me wishes to believe
that Phil did not take those drastic measures
by trashing the Cresta units.

It makes me wonder that after investing all
of the time that he had in the Prototype
Fumeo, would he be prompted to carried away
with the same behavior?

Hmmmmm?
I wonder if we are being tricked?

Michael

Yes I agree we are being tricked. Why would anyone buy stuff to throw out...a businessman would think that eventually someone would come along and purchase.

I find it hard to believe that someone like Phil would just bin the lot, given that most cine dealers keep the same stuff for years. If that was a film he couldnt sell would he trash that.

I agree with Ugo! I re-recorded at least seven Derann features so far and many T&J toons and never had a problem.
Great unit and always grateful to PEDRO for his sync box!
