Yes, Tom, not all the 900 series are like it, some have a top sprocket, a sound sprocket and normal spool arrangement(see my post above). My S926 (the Stereo one with the coaxial reels) performs beautifully, though, despite those "defects".Another enthusiast modified his to improve the film entry path; perhaps your 905 would benefit from a similar mod? I've 3 different Eumigs (and one I'm modifying for transfer use), as well as an Elmo ST600... and I love them all, although my S934 will have to go because I need both the room and the money! I will not part with my S824 or my Elmo; the 824 was purchased as a backup for my Specto Royale (bought to show the films of our wedding and honeymoon 50 years ago next month) and the Elmo, purchased when I changed to Super 8. The Specto also continues to run like a dream after all these years. Awaiting examination and any restoration needed is an iconic Bell and Howell Gaumont 601, the very first 16mm model I ever used as school projectionist.... 60 years ago. What a hobby! Is there a better one? Martin [ September 07, 2010, 10:45 AM: Message edited by: Martin Jones ]
