What I knew, the answer is NO.

Dwayne will only honour PK59, but not the envelope sold together with the cart outside the US.

But the seller of this Ebay item quite sure that Dwayne will honour those envelope sold together with the K40s.

I made a letter to him asking on this. His answer is:

Winbert, I just received three Super 8's back from Dwaynes.

Two were 64T, the other Kodachrome 40 Sound. I have never even thought to ask if they would honour the yellow envelope pre-paid processing. At only $10 for a roll, I am just glad that Kodachrome processing is still available.

I would be surprised if they honoured the yellow envelopes unless Kodak offered a rebate to them, which is unlikely.

Hi David,

Although it is only $10/roll but even PK59 prepaid envelope does still have price on Ebay. If PK50 offered for $5/piece, I'll buy it since when sending more than 5 rolls to Dwayne than the balance is quite significant then. But, sometime a silly buyer pays for more than $10/envelope of PK59 which is really funny for me.

BTW I am more interested to your Kodachrome sound. It must be pre 1998. How is the result? any a significant decrease in quality?

I used five rolls of K40 Super 8 sound this past summer, and I thought the results were spectacular on four out of the five. The fifth roll was all done indoors and seemed a tad washed out, but other than that I've been extremely surprised at just how well they've been lasting. I've intercut more recent K40 silent film into these, and the quality is consistant throughout. I'm enjoying these sound rolls as long as I can get them!

The one I just shot Winbert was my last from 1998. It came out with beautiful colour and sound.

I have a few more sound ones from 1990. I have already processed a few of this batch and the colour is slightly washed out- they have been in the fridge since new.

I still have a last few silent Kodachromes too. One from 2006 the others from the 1990's.

Winbert, the five sound cartridges I used were dated to expire between 1995 and 1998. Obviously the 1998's, being the most recent, came out as though just made! The older ones were quite good too. The oldest sound films I've used recently (April 2007) had an expiration date of 1991. The "wash out" was obvious on one of the rolls, others not so bad. I suppose it all depends on how well they were stored (fridge?) before I got them.
