I won on Trademe in New Zealand for NZ$5.50 a Walton release of "Balloon Over The Alps" and it was listed as Standard 8 sound which I thought was a mistake , but after reading some earlier topics here I discovered that they DO exist and obviously I need a S8 sound projector to play it. I've not heard of these projectors before and I am guessing they are VERY RARE!. Looks like I will have to watch it on my soundless standard 8 projector eh. Would I be correct in thinking that Super 8 sound films replaced this limited type of film?
I will be interested to read about this format and its demise.

It won't work on your standard 8 projector if it's super 8. Are you sure it's standard 8 sound? If it's super 8 you may damage it with a standard 8 projector.

Clinton. Look out for a Eumig 824D or 822D or 810D or 807D or at worst 802D. All of the above will project Standard 8mm and Super 8mm sound/silent films. Happy days!
