I have a pair of GS1200's - one Standard early generation machine and a very late series Xenon machine.
Both have a very similar sound problem. When the machines are switched on but not running, so only the fan and amplifiers are running I find that both machines will at intervals make clicking and crackling sounds from the speakers. The Xenon one will sometimes make a slight buzz before a crackle.
I know that a comon problem is the record switches/relays get dirty and are self cleaning, so I have switched to record mode and out of record mode many many times on both machines. This hasn't stopped this happening.
I am wondering if there are any capacitors for instance in the machiens that are now drying out and need replacing. or indeed is this a sign that the integrated amplifier module is failing?
Does anyone know a fix for this? Any help appreciated.
