When threading this projector the bottom sprocket wheel often will not "catch" the film. I will have to hold down the lever on the bottom of the wheel so the film will go past it then hand thread it on to the sprocket wheel where it usually continues its journey to the takeup reel. A nuisance to say the least. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks
Welcome! I run into this on occasion and usually it is because the end of the leader has too much curl or is not trimmed right. It is a must that you use the trimmer on the front of the projector and make sure it is even. Most of the time original leader will be flat and feed through just fine. But if you have added new leader and it has come off it's reel toward the end it can be curled. Sometimes I just gently roll the end of it up in my fingers, about 6 inches or so the opposite direction being careful not to crease it so as to flatten it out.
I hope that made sense and helps you out. I love my ST1200 but it can be fussy about leader.

Make sure Gary, if we are talking of the lower sprocket before take up, that the spring has not become detached from the guide. This guide should fit snug, ensuring your film flows up the channel, there is a long spring that holds it against the sprocket.
