OK, if anyone was paying attention I posted the below question in General Yak just a moment ago. Sorry, but I am pretty new at this.
OK, here's a bonehead question from someone who's just getting back into Super 8 after 26 years. I just recently purchased an Agfa FS8 automatic splicer off of Ebay and I'm sitting here reading the instructions and other than joining two separate strips of film I do not see where I can just cut film. In other words lets say I just want to start separating takes off a 50' roll - How do I do that on the Agfa?
It's been a long time since I've actually cut film - Can't you tell?

This is a tape splicer, however, I am not familiar with it but I have a similar tape splicer which fooled me for a few minutes when I first went to use it. The whole central section slid sideways to bring a cutting edge into position. It might be similar to your model.

Hey You Two,
I got a few answers on this up in General Yak already.
And yes it's tape - tabs that they still make, or rather I should say that both Spectra and Super 8 Ireland seem to have plenty of. Different brands too. So that covers the tape part.
FWI, Andrew from Manchester indicates that it will cut film, just as a cutter by feeding the section to be cut from the left after marking where the cut should occur then place the marked frame in Dead Center and without putting in one of the tape tabs just pull down the lever and it will slice the film.
I'm going to wait to do it on a piece of leader first to see how well the cut is.
Thanks for getting back and we'll talk (so to speak) soon.
