Hello! I am a new member to the forum. I have a 1963 Eumig P8 Automatic projector that was my Fathers and in very good condition and want to digitise all the movies he took from the 60's.
I have set the projector up and it turns on and the bulb works etc, the main motor runs but does not turn the main spools. The drive belt had broken so I bought a new one and connected it to the pulleys, but when I switch on it appears to slip on the top pulley - so again the main motor is running but not driving the spools.
Please can someone help me, or am I doing something very silly!
Many thanks in advance
Stuart Adams

I am not too familiar with this particular model, but I believe it has a still picture clutch which is achieved by sliding the belt off the motor drive pulley.

If this is so, care is needed when fitting the belt, if you have the instruction booklet it will probably describe how to fit the belt, possibly on the other pulley.

could you post some photos? somemodels have the singel frame projection switch older ones dont. the thickness of the belt is very important for this system to work. it has an aluminium fork that switches the belt from one to the other wheel. if the thickness is a little bit off it wont switch. fortunately you dont need to use this system frequently so often i remove the aluminium fork, this can be done whithout damage and the projector wil run fine.
