Hi guys, A fellow emailed me today about a projector that he inherited from a relative, and i'm thinking about buying it. I asked him to send me a pic of the model number (see the attached photo) I've heard of these, but really have no prior experience with them or knowledge about them. The plate just says Fujica 8.... Basically the questions I have are - Is this a super 8 or standard 8 projector? Does it take a halogen bulb? And what are these like quality-wise?
As I mentioned, the guy inherited it and knows pretty much nothing about it...so any info would be much appreciated

Hi John, According to the page at the link below it is a standard 8mm, you may need a bit more info on the full model number to be sure?
As far as what type of bulb it uses...hopefully the original lamp is still in there? Halogen are round and the other types are tall or even "spaceman" looking ones.
Hope this helps Clinton.

Hi Clinton, Thanks for the reply... I asked him to send me pics of the model number and he says that it only says Fujica 8. Typing that into Google doesn't yield any specific info.
I've been collecting films and projectors for about 30 years but have zero experience with Fujica, so i'm sort of stumped on this one.
The reason I was wondering about the bulb, is because if it takes a halogen bulb (which i'm hoping it does) they would be fairly common and cheap...but if it takes an older incandescent style bulb, i'm likely going to pass on buying it.
Was hoping someone would know what these are like quality-wise as well.

Hi well I wouldn`t pay too much for it.£10-£20 english ( if the bulb is still )OK
The bulb is the valve based one ( 184 or 194 etc ) and when its in Bell+Howells std 8 projectors it is so hot it raises each frame of the film. So you need to see if it has a heat shield glass in between the lamp and the film gate.
9/10 will have issues now, its really better to be given one if you can.
