Hi there,
I'm looking to purchase some 8mm film for my crown 8 movie camera I picked up from an antique shop, does anyone know where I could get some within 9 days before my sisters bday where I want to record some footage as keep sake.
Are there differences in film grade/quality?
The camera seems to run well, but I also require a manual if anyone has one in digital file would great if you could provide a link or email address to send me.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, Maybe a bit too late, I will see if there is a blank film in my dads collection. How do you tell if a film is blank, don't want to expose it and lose a blank film. Do you need to install in a dark room? Do you know whether anyone here has a digital manual?

Jesse, colour filmstock should not be used long time after the expiry date. Some stocks cannot be processed anymore, like the Kodachrome. The only way to be sure that a double 8 stock has not been exposed is if the box is sealed. You need to load the camera in the dark to avoid loosing stock footage (each foot put in the light is lost and, as double 8 has to run twice in the camera, you loose the double of the stock each time you're not careful).

I was thinking that the crown 8 EZS camera used 8 mm film, though I don't actually know what size film I should buy. I never got around to buying any back in 2015...time flies.
Anyone have a digital copy of the manual?
Also, I had assumed the film could be developed at my local photoshop camera store, though he didn't have any equipment for old films, not that I had any film for it. I think I will make a separate post on this.

I used to own a Crown 8 camera with a 3 lens turret. It wasn't a bad camera, I ran a roll or two of film through it before I sold it.
