We have recently been watching a lot of Randolph Scott Westerns on DVD, they are all great and Scott must surely be the most likeable movie cowboy of all time.
So I am wondering if any of Scott's great movies ever made it to super 8mm?

hi! Paul,yes there,s some features of westerns with randolph Scott,for exemple i do got ;fighting mn of the plain,from niles a nice print indeed,the original it,s in cinecolor,butthe prints in super 8 are in black and white even this title in dvd is black and white,despite this one there,s the caribo trail,i belive ther,s a few more,

there,s also some italian prints in color but they aren,t full lenghts.

I think "Comanche Station", "Buchanan Rides Alone" and "Decision At Sundown" were all released as 400ft digests from Columbia. I have never owned one but they probably will suffer from fade and the dreaded Columbia narrator. "The Spoilers" was issued by Castle Films in a 200ft version and Mountain Films released "Follow the Fleet" as a 4X400ft feature. I remember seeing an Italian 3X400ft print of a Randolph Scott film in Larry Pierce's old shop in the Ealing Road called "Pinkerton Agent". This was probably "The Bounty Hunter"(1954). It's a shame a few Randolph Scott features weren't released as they would have made great 4X400ft features but they probably would have been well faded now.

I agree with Paul that Scott's feature films would have made excellent material for super 8. Randy's westerns were never long on plot, and just about all the one's I have seen could have easily been edited down to terrific 400ft digests - without any need for narration!
