Hi all!

Just got this projector and it seems like it was never used!
of course the belts and bulb needed replacement, and I also find the frame adjuster is seized.
I have put some penetrating oil on parts that may be binding the frame adjuster and am waiting for that to do its work. I would also like to lubricate other parts that may need it but I don't want to just start spraying oil all over the place.
Are there specific lube points I should know about (or spots to avoid)?

Thanks a lot for your expertise!
Bill

Sankyo projectors are said to have lifetime lubrication. I generally don't re-lubricate unless I see that grease has turned brown and hard on the gears. Then I clean off the old grease and apply some SuperLube to the gears. You don't want to add oil or grease to any friction activated parts. It's also a good idea to add some oil to the bearings in motor. Bramec Zoom Spout All-Purpose Turbine Oil is excellent for this.

Did you get the framer working?

Thanks Janice,
Where might the motor bushings be?
And no, I have not freed up the framer yet.

If you motor is running quiet and speed is good then no oil is necessary. If motor labors or is noisy...Just add some oil where the shaft goes into the motor and tip the projector to let the oil enter the motor and into the bearings.

As far as the framer...You might want to remove the bottom front cover (2 screws underneath) and remove the plastic framer knob. You will have a better look at the switch mechanism and you can try to carefully turn the metal switch post with pliers.
