Anyone had any experence with this model of projector?..I know nothing about them...

I got this projector last year and I must admit I do like using it. Although you can playback stereo recordings, you cant record in stereo, but mono only on track one. However you can do track to track transfers etc. The projector is heavy and well made. The auto threading is very easy to use. The projector came with its Bell and Howell 800ft take up reel. The lamp is a 15v 150watt with a High/Low switch another nice feature, is that the lamp is pre-heated. With Sound on Sound features and a good range of speed adjustment either on 18/24 fps, this projector is really good. I found projecting film nice and steady focus also with good sound output....all up so far I am very impressed [Cool]

I look forward to being able to use this projector and its features a lot more in the future.

That's a great projector Graham. It's was actually made by Sankyo. I had the mono version ... the DCR that I sold last year. I loved how easy the auto-threading worked and the bright steady picture. Great sound too. You'll love it [Smile]

FYI...Here's the video I made for the DCR:

There are three models badged as Bell & Howell which were made by Sankyo. DCR, DCM & DCT.

I have all three, plus many Sankyos. I love them all.

Only one problem does occur over time. Failure of the micro switches which are operated by the rotary control knob. However, quite cheap to source, but a trifle fiddly to replace.

The Sankyo Stereo 800 is top of the range and is worth looking out for.

Hi, Graham.
It should also record on track 2. Please do not use oil to lubricate the shutter cam/claw arm assembly: it requires grease.
It's a great machine. similar in operations/facilities to the Sankyo S 700 line, but this one looks a little better. Enjoy!
