I saw something like this in in used in retail product presentation surprisingly recently, probably later than 2000. Maybe it was just a case that it was working well for them and they decided to let it live out it's natural life.
I doubt very many recognized the familiar 24FPS rhythm going on, but I've grown kind of familiar with it!
It's just one of hose times you want to say to someone "Hey! Look at this!" -and then realize they won't have the slightest idea what you're talking about!

I’m really lucky to be the proud owner of one of these projectors,I only have 1 working cassette and one with a snapped film. It goes great. And it was actually given to me about 3 years ago from a fellow collector who was downsizing
