I am a huge fan of retractable cords on anything really.. Yesterday I found a Keystone K108 at the thrift store and was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a retractable cord. Was this common on Keystone (or other brand) projectors?

As someone who has spent 30 odd years working with mains leads, I have to say I find retractable cords the work of the devil!
I much prefer a cord (lead) with a plug at each end, that can be removed and stored, rather than coiled up inside.

Pam I would say that it's most uncommon. I have lots of projectors and only three have such mains leads, Elf/Eiki M1 16mm, Pathescope Gem & Pathescope Son, both 9.5mm.

Hi Pam... Although not common I've had two projectors with retractable cords. One a Keystone K-160 (16mm) and the other a Dual8 GAF Anscovision 788. I have to agree with you Pam...I like the retractable cord...keeps things neat and tidy. However if the cord rewind is not working properly...it can be a pain to get the cord to travel back into the machine.

Having reread Pam's comment I seem to have misunderstood. I assumed the reference was to projectors with fully connected mains leads which were coiled by hand at the end of a show, i.e. a lead with no connecting socket on its end. I now realise that the leads refereed to coil back automatically like a steel tape measure. I must say that I've never met a projector with a mains lead like that.
