Hello! I missed this on Phil's list. Does anyone who has it tell me what the content and the quality is like? I love the little Mogwais! [Smile]

Hello Alan,

I have o print of the 2 x 600 ft featurette of this early Derann title. I searched a long time for myself. I can tell you that the print is very sharp and has a good colour. The copy is on Kodak pre-stripe. And the (German) stereo sound is very good. I know you prefer english sound but I don't know how good this is, sorry.

The print is well edited and has a running time approx 60 minutes. All I can say is this is a must have.

I also have this and it is one of the best, it was a shame that Derann could not have done the full feature but it is still worth having and tells the story nicely from start to finish.

Hi Alan,

I purchased a print from Mr. O'Reilly a few months back and I agree with Ralf & Paul about the print quality. The edit maintains the general mood of the feature. The beginning and end sequences remain fairly whole. The introduction of Spike, the nasty gremlin, is cut very short so you're left wondering who this bad guy is. The swimming pool sequence isn't set up properly, and Phoebe Cates only shows up near the end. Still, it's incredibly hard to cut down certain features and most of the highlights are here: The mom fighting back in the kitchen (love that microwave bit!), the gremlins getting drunk in the bar, and that great scene in the movie theater.

Alan, I think I might have beat you to the print that Phil had on his list. Its a great print with great colour and the Stereo soundtrack excellent. One of Derann's better prints all round. I would go for the copy that Ken has offered you as it doesnt turn up that often on the dealers lists.

Thanks Alan. Have you managed to secure a copy? It's worth it and its been really well cut down from the original feature and in scope.

Paul, Yes I stand corrected on that it is indeed flat. I had scope on the brain at the time I wrote that reply as I was also pointing out a copy of another film on ebay to one or two friends in the Lightwater group here in the UK.
My mistake.
