Hey Gang!
Thanks to everyone who has purchased from me so far, its been a blast. But I still have lots to go, so in this list I will be adding some new titles, and some shorter length stuff for the first time as well.
But just to get started, let me try a bit of shilling for a couple of titles that had interest, but never sold. This means I checked 'em out and can vouch for them being in good shape..
BABOONA as Dan Lail mentioned is a great film. Important explorers Martin and Osa Johnson have produced a fascinating look into Africa, and I love the 1930's time period. Great film, and I'll lower the price to $30!
HALLELUJA I'M A BUM turned out to be a great film too...and nice contrast and density made it even better. Directed by the legendary Lewis Milestone, starring Al Jolson, with songs by Rodgers and Hart! C'mon man! Go read the IMDB listing, and you'll see what a treasure this is. I wanted $50 for it, its worth it, but I'll lower the price to $40!
Okay, I've got some of those Columbia Classics digests in their original boxes, all Super 8 sound films. Each of these is 20 minutes long, condensed from the original film. What are these worth? Whatever, I'll see if I can get $15 each: THE AWFUL TRUTH IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT MR. DEEDS GOES TO TOWN BORN YESTERDAY LAWRENCE OF ARABIA but yeah, color is faded and its flat.
The collector who I got all this stuff from seemed to favor Will Rogers a bit, so I've got copies of BIG MOMENTS FROM LITTLE PICTURES for $20, and COWBOY SHIEK for $15, both are Super 8 sound. Both are in original Blackhawk boxes.
I found a 600' reel in a Bonum case of animation stuff, again, in super 8 sound. The reel has FOUR FILMS BY EMILE COHL on it, the early French animator credited with creating the pixilation style among other achievements, and that film was followed by the whole of GERTIE by Windsor McCay, which I had never seen before. The one reel for just $20
And here are the new features I'm adding:
SECRET AGENT Aflred Hitchcock, 1936, on five 400' reels in a Niles box$60
STEAMBOAT BILL JR. the Buster Keaton classic, the first two reels are 400' in a Blackhawk box, the film finishes out on a 600' reel in a Bonum case. $40
WOMAN IN GREEN a Rathobone Sherlock Holmes feature from 1945, from Hollywood Film Exchange, on four 400' reels in white boxes. The printing on this film may have been a bit off, it seems I can see the left side of the frame a bit more than I'd like, so heck its only $30 and I'll toss in a 200' reel of Rathbone/Holmes trailers for free!
THE CLONES 1973. Most of the stuff in this large collection I've been going through has been older classics, but I was pleased to find this cult sci-fi film among the piles. I checked out the opening of the first reel, and the color is nice, and sound is great. One minor light black line on the left that should be mentioned. On six 400' reels in a Hollywood Film Exchange original box. From imdb: A nuclear scientist is "cloned" by foreign agents, struggles against terrifying odds to prove he is himself and not the clone. Producers note that the word Clones was rarely, if ever heard in the American vocabulary before this picture was released. I had originally posted this film in a separate post, but never had a bite. I'll lower the price to $40!
anybody interested in a Demille big crazy production from 1925? THE ROAD TO YESTERDAY actually has William Boyd in it as religious man, before he became Hopalong Cassidy. Not a bad film, super 8 sound, first four 400' reels are in a Blackhawk box, the last reel is a 600' Bonum reel in its case. Only $30
aw heck I can't type any more. Let me know! Remember that shipping is extra.
