Hi Austin,
$40 is probably not going to get you a very nice feature length print.
My very first feature film cost about $35. The reason why is the color is faded and that's what the seller thought it was worth.
A brand new feature runs in the hundreds, so a used one is going to be some fraction of that, the better the condition the higher the percentage. (Plus the issue of rarity...)
I still have that film after all these years. Even though it's not the nicest print on the planet any feature solves that problem of what to watch for several nights if you are willing to take it a reel per night.

Steve makes a good point.
Then again, there may be members on the Forum, or people that you will eventually meet and they might unload a film print in your lap, only to move it quickly.
It may also be surprising that some films listed on ebay may be very good.
Ebay claims that you "win" an auction. It's all what you are willing to pay for an item.
Among many bids, someone recently purchased a Super 8mm Scope full length print of Star Wars on ebay for: $1,800.

Not so sure about that, Brian! Another Brian (or was he Bryan) in Syracuse tried to sell " The Lively Set" feature for $20.00! He didn't sell it at all at the time. 20 bucks for an entire feature! I just sold the silent digest for $26.00 last week. He had it for 25 and would have taken 20. No need to mention is was beet red..

Dino,
I said that once to a woman who was in the ocean. She looked at me as if I were nuts. Too bad I didn't have a Don Post Creature mask on that day while saying it; or would a Nestor Paiva mask be more suitable???
