Oh good David. I hope there are a variety of titles then and not all 70's Soho titles. It would be fantastic to see over 100 features on 8 just from one table alone!

I have been made a very good offer for the collection of films which I am considering .has forum members have asked will films be checked and cond mentioned before sold .I have not the time to check all these films so I have 2 options sell as a job lot or take them to blackpool and sell them there .one thing though these have come from a private collection and been looked after most of them in original boxes its hard for me to make a decision sell them all take to blackpool or put them on ebay 5 at a time .or let members come to my home and buy them their

As a host of a film convention; they should probably go there if you care about them going into genuine collector hands.
if you want best price...put them on e bay. expect plenty of questions though surrounding the condition of each. Screen shots would help.
selling job lot just allows someone else to make even more money on them. selling them from your home allows realistically only collectors who live in the north west of England to be able to purchase unless anyone fancies a Weekend break in Ormskirk.

I'd certainly suggest taking them to Blackpool. Even if that doesn't result in you getting the best possible prices, it will be an added boost for the Film Fair and may well bring more through the door, as collectors are crying out for good Super 8 material at events. It really creates a buzz if people are finding attractive releases with no sense that all the 'good stuff' has been pre-sold!
In my opinion, the No.1 problem that's generally evident at any film collecting event nowadays is that the Super 8 films on sale are generally the usual old material from up to about 1980 - it's almost as if the 1980s revival and all the great releases of the 80s and 90s never happened! So if the collection includes Derann releases from the 1980s and beyond, that will generate a lot of excitement at Blackpool, and some such films would also be a great addition to the auction.

Adrian, very well said Sir!
I couldn't agree with you more. The overall good it would do for the success and longevity of the Blackpool film faire, if people thought a huge private collection would be there to view and purchase on the day, Would far outweigh any quick buck made via e bay!
I am certain the numbers would more than double if a collection of post 1980 Super 8mm features were to feature there.
The interest these would bring to the event would be nothing short of phenomenal.
These are THE most sought after items in the collecting world today.
If I were an event organizer, this type of find, just leading up to the event would be like a lottery win for me.
