Everyone has been so very helpful in the past, and I am hoping there might be a light at the end of this tunnel for me...

I just purchased a solid Eumig S709 Dual 8 projector (sound) from a "reputable" vendor on Ebay, and the item arrived as described. HOWEVER, the original power cord was not included, instead a standard 3-pronged adaptor came with it -- the vendor is unable to find a useable cord for me, and I would hate to have to return this.

The power cord for this model fits into a spot at the front of the projector, where it attaches onto 2 prongs, not three. If anyone has an extra cord available, I would be happy to pay a fair price for it... really hope someone might have some good news.

Cheers, all - happy new year!

I have actually used plugs from other projectors/devices in times when I have been without a cord, and never had a problem. I have even gone to thrift stores and just looked for a cheap or broken item that had a cord that would fit, maybe that is an option if you no one has a spare.

Hi Dino... it's such a unique cord, that I've been unable to find a similar one at any of the thrift shops here -- I think this reflects the European design more than anything... still hoping someone might be able to help.

Cheers!

http://www.super8film.at/ -> "Sonstiges"
STROMKABEL für Eumig P 8 - Eumig Mark 8 /mark M und Projektoren der 700er Serie 2 polig 15,- euro
(POWERCORD for Eumig P 8 - Eumig Mark 8 /mark M and projectors of the 700-series 2 pins 15,- euro)

Of course the other end of the cord is "European". But you should be able to buy an adapter in a local electronics shop - or simply replace it with a "Nothern American" plug.

Or try Bolex:
http://www.bolex.ch/NEW/index.php says: "sales of spare parts for 16mm, Super 8 and 8mm Bolex and Eumig products, worldwide."

Hi folks - thanks for your help.

I've sent an email off to the fellow in Vienna, but have yet to receive a response, and have had no further luck with other sources. It is such a unique cord - I wonder if the design is specific to Eumig?

Unfortunate situation, and the vendor I dealt with on Ebay is, in fact, a regular poster on this forum (no names)... looks like we're heading into a Paypal claim, though :-(

Cheers!

This exchange of emails is surprising for me, since I have also been looking for a power cable for my Eumig Mk8 for some time. While I don't expect to be as lucky enough to find one for nothing, I would be very grateful if someone could come up with one I can buy. It's such an out-dated plug, and not one I've seen on any other piece of electrical equipment. Very sturdy though! I'm in Durham, UK, but I think I can persuade a nephew to work his PayPal account for me if there's one out there I can buy off someone.

Thanks all round,

Peter

Why don't you contact Bolex or Super8film.at?
