I feel a bit churlish having my first post be a request, but nevertheless I was wondering if anyone might have an extra standard 8mm CIR splicer around that they would be willing to part with? Either metal or plastic (I'm on a student's budget, so a plastic model might be more realistic but either way). Thanks for your time.

You know that you can use a 16mm CIR splicer for standard 8 right? I usually keep a super 8 and a 16mm in my box of supplies that way i am always covered for all 3 gauges.

Haven't had any luck so far on the CIR splicers, so as I search for alternatives, might someone know anything about the 'Bilora super 8/8mm tape splicer'(i.e. quality, what kind of tape you can use with it, etc.)? Thanks.
