I Have a Bell and Howell 2585, which takes a ELC bulb. I had ordered a replacement Osram ELC for it, but it has a round back instead of a square back, and wont fit. My Eiki slot load had the similar square back, but will take either bulb in it, because it doesn't have a back slot to fit into. I know the 2585 series is still used. Is there a special ELC bulb that I don't know of, that has this square back?

The link that Janice gave does not clearly show the base of the lamp, from the way it has been photographed it could have a round base. I give a link to eBay where the photo clearly shows the lamp for sale has a square base.

As has been mentioned, ELC lamps do come with different bases, some round and some rectangular. Most projectors will accept both, but not all projectors. It is important to know which of your projectors accept each lamp, or perhaps both. Make sure you are getting the correct lamp before you buy.
