Hi everyone, I have a Fumeo Aula super projector which I have had for a number of years, the last nine I haven't used it. now when I switch it on the motor rotates but nothing else. Does anyone know where I could find out information from or even know how to repair it. I would appreciate any help. I live near Doncaster uk

Hi John and welcome! If the motor is running this is a good sign [Smile] . You will have to remove the back cover of the projector to make any further assessment to the problem. The most common reason for the reels not turning when the motor is running is broken or stretched belts. This would mean the fan wheel (this cools the machine from the heat of the lamp) is not turning because of the belt issue. I'm not familiar with the Fumeo projectors specifically...but generally new replacement belts could get you up and running quickly.

Turn the lamp on briefly to see if it is working. It may be burned out or the connections corroded from lack of use.

These are just initial troubleshooting procedures. Report back and we can assist you further.

Van Eck have service manuals. They quote model numbers. Does your projector have such a number?

Hi guys thank you for your replies, I have checked the projector for numbers and the only ones I can find are what looks to be like a ser No 10902 and Fumeo 20127 Milano Italy. I am not sure how to remove the back as the back appears to be the bottom and top too. I didn't want to delve into the projector without the know how and damage something.

Hi Guys, I have managed to get a manual for the projector. I now have had time to look at it. the belt was slipping on the drive wheel of the motor.
At the bottom of the motor mounting there is a screw and nut which had come loose, I believe this to be the screw which tensions the drive belt as by tightening up this screw the motor drive belt now drives the projector. My only concern is that the top of the motor mounting is not hinged to allow the motor mounting plate to swing out.
Have you any thoughts on this?

kind regards

John
