15 April: Quite a few have sold recently, so hurry, hurry!

I've just picked up quite a few cartoons and will be listing some once I've checked them.

----

I have recently acquired the remains of a local 16mm film library's collection.

I shall be retaining about a dozen of the titles and selling the rest on. However, as you'll all be aware I'm fairly new to the 16mm scene so, while I can attempt some pricing I'm not up on all the rare/junk titles. (Although I have been told that the Day of the Triffids is possibly very rare?)

I haven't had a chance to go through more than a couple yet to try and judge condition. So I thought I'd post the list here and if anyone is interested in a particular title then please let me know, along with an indication of what you'd offer for a reasonable condition copy. I'll then move any such titles up in priority in my screening list.

If you don't want any films but can help me price them then I'd be grateful.

I'll take back any titles if they turn out not to be as I finally describe them.

Name AKA Year Medium Mounted On Sound Format Colour
Abbot & Costello Meet Captain Kidd 1952 16mm 2x1600 Optical Flat BW
Antonio 1973 16mm 2x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Battle Squadron La Battaglia d'Inghilterra, Eagles Over London 1969 16mm 3x1600 Optical Scope Colour
Contract, The La Saignée, Manhunt for Murder 1971 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
X312 Flight To Hell 16mm 2x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Girl in Every Port 1952 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat BW
Gold Raiders 1951 16mm 2x1600 Optical Flat BW
Great Monkey Rip Off, The 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Insolent, The 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Last Shot, The 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Massacre in Rome 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Nightmare for a Killer (copy 1) 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Snow Treasure 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Stranger, The 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Superchick 16mm 3x1600 Optical Flat Colour
Triple Cross 1967 16mm 4x1600 Optical Flat Colour

I do have to sell most of these; my wife wants her kitchen back, and the cat's not too happy either!

Changes:
Added AKAs to some titles

Note: I'll consider exchanges.

To make the list clearer I'm simply deleting titles that have been sold.

As a collector of "bad" horror films I am interested in "Hannah, Queen of the Vampires" and "Lady Frankenstein". I would expect to pay up to £75 per feature depending on the condition and colour. Obviously serious colour fade and a worn print would affect the price.
As to the value of any rarer titles I am no expert and can really only comment on the horror titles but if your print of "Psychomania" is in good condition it should fetch a good price as it is considered a "cult" film. Well with Beryl Reid, George Sanders and a load of undead bikers it has to be doesn't it. [Big Grin]

I forgot one:

Destination Moon, 1950, 3x1600, Flat, BW - Reel 1 is well used with a couple of seconds missing in the titles, haven't checked reels 2 or 3 yet.

Paul, I'll check the two you mentioned this evening.

Stewart, what a great find. If the shipping wasn't so high from the U.K. to the U.S., I would purchase one or two or three. [Smile]

Thanks Dan,

By the way, the shipping for three films only comes to twice that of one [Big Grin]

Or, if you can wait, I'll be in the US in May and could take a couple over in my luggage. I fully intend to bring a couple back!

Hi Steven,

Will do next year - sometime tomorrow [Smile]

I've watched the City... episode. The condition is good but there's a little colour fade. Spock's uniform is more turquoise than blue.

Happy New Year

Hi Stewart,
the films arrived safely this morning and I am really pleased with them. Many thanks. I'll probably be buying a couple more in February.
Best wishes,
Paul.

Stewart brought one of his films to the U.S. for me and shipped it from New york. What a guy! [Smile] I viewed the film(Beat The Devel) and it was in very good condition. Sharp original black & white with booming sound. The price was very generous too, especially with the shipping arangement.

Thank you Stewart. [Cool]

Glad to hear you liked it Dan and thanks for the kind words <blush>.

I'm beginning to think that I'm too critical on my films' condition. Stuff I rate as having some wear seems to equate to films I buy that are "in great shape". I've bought "excellent" prints off of well known names that are muddy, splicey dupes.

Hi Stewart,
"Grave of the Vampire" arrived safely this morning and once again I am 100% delighted. I would certainly recommend any 16mm collectors on the forum who might be considering buying some of these films to get in fast as these titles won't last forever. I've got my eye on a couple more that I am interested in so if they are still available in March I will be contacting you again.
Best wishes,
Paul.

"Bump"

Quite a few now sold, a (scratchy) B&W print of Destination Moon added to the list.
