We all love a bargain. I have just bought the Region 2 DVD of "The House of Wax" (1953) from PLAY.com for £3.99 which included postage.
The transfer from the Technicolor original on this Warner release is terrific, and as a bonus they have included the original 2-strip Technicolor release from 1931 "Mystery of the Wax Museum" with Lionel Atwill and Fay Wray.

Maurice, I agree with you about the quality of this dvd. Bought mine from one of PLAY's previous sales and as you say it's a bargain. Mal

Fine quality it may be and cheap at half the price too, but it's not in 3D. that's the format it was shot for and that's the format I want to see it in. A 3D version was released in the '80s in Japan on the VHD system and Universal have a deal with Sensio which has resulted in high quality 3D dvds of Jaws 3D and Taza Son Of Cochise (both released this year).
A digital restoration of the 3D version of Hondo was completed last year, but I bet I know what'll happen when they comne to re-release the dvd. I must find a brick wall to bang my head against.
