Two sad losses in the space of a few days,Jon Lord, keyboards man from DEEP PURPLE has left us,but his great riffs like "Smoke on the Water" & "Sweet Child in Time" will live on. The other Simon Ward, star of "Young Winston" and "The Three (Four) Musketeers" has died after a long illness at 71. He had done lots of Theatre work in the West End,but he never seemed to fully recover from when he was brutally attacked and beaten a few years ago.Hammer Films gave him his break in "Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed".Both men are a great loss and condolencies to their Families.R.I.P.

Shame about Jon Lord, although you might have created a hybrid classic with 'Sweet Child in Time' the Gun'n'Rose/Deep Purple anthem.

Another stage, film and TV personality died around the same time too. Angharad Rees passed away age 63. Perhaps best known for her role in 'Poldark' she can be seen on super 8 in the Hammer film 'Hands Of The Ripper' as the troubled daughter of the infamous Jack the Ripper.

That is very sad Mal,I didn't know that she had passed away.I do believe that she got back with her husband Christopher Casanove and unfortunately he died.Angharad was a very feminine, lovely woman, and a great loss to her generation of actors. Our sincere condolencies to her Family.Rest In Peace Angharad.
