Just a quick heads up that my email account has been hacked again(!). There are a lot of you in my address book so many of you will have received an email from my account containing nothing other than a link.
I suggest you don’t click on it.
Apparently it’s happening on a grand scale at the moment, my account is with Yahoo, but colleagues with both Gmail and Hotmail accounts have also been hacked and the same spurious link sent to everyone in their address books. Not sure what the payoff is for the hacker, but it’s bloody annoying having to contact everyone and let them know it wasn’t me that sent said spurious email.
Ho hum…

Maurice,
I haven't viewed the link myself, but those that have (and there are many) say it leads you to a spoof News Website where there is a report about a woman in your local area earning loads of money from not doing very much. It then asks you to follow several easy steps to "register" and set yourself on the way to earning similar, large amounts of money in exchange for doing equally little.
Needless to say, I wouldn't click on the link myself and even less would I register my details in readiness for receiving loads of easy money. But I guess some people do, otherwise the hackers wouldn't get any payoff from their efforts.
I think I managed to get my account hacked when I checked my emails at the weekend at my parents house, using their ancient and poorly protected pc. They rarely use it now and I think that any protection they once had has expired.
