I have just watched the ITV showing of the new Bond film, "Spectre". Where did all the cost of $250 million go? I hope cinemas got better copies than the one received by TV. It looked like a fading SP print with no real colours.

The story line was poor, not entertaining and boring. Where was all the gloss of the "good old Bonds"? Daniel Craig just went through the motions of acting. In my opinion, the worst Bond yet, so far. He even made George Lazenby look good.

A new Bond film was always an event, but not this one.

I think the good ones ended with Timothy Dalton. I bought a copy of 'Die another Day', and the computer generated effects spoilt it for me. It was way over the top.

Guys I have to disagree with you there.

Outwith most of the Sean Connery and the George Lazenby ones I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever.

I never liked any of the Moore,Dalton or Pierce Bonds.

On stating that I dislike Connery's DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER and NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN.

I also prefer Craig and the extra edge Bond would have to have.

But I enjoy them all.

The recent ones do seem to have a slightly subdued look colour wise to me though.

Best Mark.

No worry.
I can sit down at any time and watch the best Bond ever. "Goldfinger".
I have a 16mm print in great Kodachrome colour, and magnetic sound.

My best Sean Connery Bond is FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.
A great script with the minimum use of techy gadgets. [Big Grin]

I would have to say Goldfinger would be my favourite Bond bu From Russia with Love was a strong contender. I suppose Croatia looking cannily like Bonnie Scotand wouldn't be influencing you Mr Hardy😀

For me, I have always had a soft spot for You Only Live Twice. It's a great combination of escapist '60s action and gadgets - Little Nellie and all. Would love to have a scope print of this title and it's one of the titles I wished I had hired when Filmbank had it.

I caught about the last half of Spectre on ITC last night, at least the didn't crop it to 16:9 as they have other Bonds recently. t made me glad I didn't waste money going to the cinema for this.

It just seemed to me to be trying to wrap up the series for another re-boot and as said with the current de-saturated colours making it look just "wrong" and no feeling of involvement. The fact I could see a couple of plot points coming a mile off didn't help either.

I stopped watching „the new Bond“ after approx. 40 minutes of „Quantum“ when I left the cinema and to me it’s the end of an era.
Even Jason Statham‘s TRANSPORTER is more Bond-like than Craig.
My favorite Bonds are GOLDFINGER, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE and OHMSS.
But everything’s a question of taste

Of the Craigs I like 1 3 and 4 pretty much, the second one was very weak.

There is talk of the next Bond being a lady or of an ethnic origin.

I do like Ben Whishaw as Q.

Best Mark.
