Can anyone tell me the significance of the numbers on the Paillard G models such as 4-OBT and 2.4-OBT etc.

My first posting on this forum.

The "2-4 obt" mechanism is a refinement for adjusting for either two, or four-bladed shutter. The advantage is to increase light output and reduce flicker at silent film speeds.

Ça veut dire, pardon me, obt. is obturations, obscurations. You can project down to 12 f. p. s. free from flicker with such a model.
